Paper Shoes

When I saw a gorgeous paper shoe Inger's blog last week, I desperately wanted to make one. Fortunately for me, I had ladies' meeting Friday night, so I had the perfect excuse to make several of them. :) And since they're designed to actually hold something, I made coordinating bookmarks to slip inside. I put them on the table as decorations and then allowed each of the ladies to pick one to take home.

Here are all five of them with the bookmarks tucked inside. I pulled out the bookmark from the red/green shoe on the left, just so you get a better idea.

You can't tell in the picture, but the shoe in the middle on top is made from the green alligator-skin embossed paper I got from Tuesday Morning the other week (it's by American Crafts).

The other green shoe (back, far right) is made from more gorgeous embossed American Crafts paper (another Tuesday Morning find).

Look! Look! I actually got to use some of those roses! :) See the big glittered one in the middle of the front? And I used over a dozen of the small ones to decorate the other shoes. I had so much fun!

Here's the bottom of the shoe. Isn't it neat? You can find a free downloadable template (as well as an instructional video) from a very talented and generous lady named Terri at Artful Affirmations here. She tucks vintage ribbon and lace bundles into her shoes to exchange with fellow crafting friends. Wouldn't that be a fabulous gift?
