Giveaway Winner + 18" Doll Clothes Fit Baby Alive

Today is the day I get to pick the winner of the vintage sheets charm pack. I used random.org to come up with my number:

That's Becky ...

I've sent you an e-mail! Please respond before Monday, June 6th.

I enjoyed your input on favorite finds and such, so I'll be doing giveaways more often in the future.

For today's post, I'm sharing a revelation my daughter and I had the other day.

For some reason, she wanted a new outfit for her Baby Alive doll. Never mind that she has a whole drawer full of doll clothes. (I was the same way when I was a girl, though, so I can't say much.)

All the homemade doll clothes I had on hand were the ones from my Etsy shop for 18" dolls. I really didn't think they'd fit, but we tried it ...

... and they did! Needless to say, my daughter was thrilled. She talked me out of a denim skirt and one of the few t-shirts I've made so far. I think I'm going to have to make more of those soon. They seem to be a pretty popular item with little girls.

As you can see in the picture, the skirt fits fine in the waist. The Velcro doesn't meet on the whole length of the Velcro strip, but that's why I put a 3-5" strip of Velcro in the first place - so it can be adaptable to different waist sizes.

Here you can see it with the t-shirt pulled down the normal way.

And here it is from the back. The t-shirt was just a tad snug, but it was designed to be a tight fit for an 18" doll, so I'm not surprised. I may create just a little more wiggle room in future t-shirts, but this really does work fine.

So there you have it - the 18" doll clothes are now a lot more versatile. Enjoy! :)
